I’m excited to share that I’ve officially completed the Navigator Transportation Data Science Project (TDSP) and received a certificate of achievement!
This project, hosted by the Northeast Big Data Innovation Hub and National Student Data Corps, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation, challenged participants to explore real-world crash data and uncover insights to help improve road safety—especially for vulnerable road users like pedestrians and cyclists.
Over the course of the program, I worked through multiple research milestones, diving into:
- Real NYC crash data from OpenData
- Python-based data analysis and visualization using tools like Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Folium
- Exploratory data analysis on topics like road design, intersection safety, lane width, and crash severity
- Building data stories and sharing findings to support data-driven urban planning
This certificate represents more than just hours of analysis—it’s a step forward in using data science for meaningful impact in transportation and public safety.
